If you need Cinnamon desktop so badly, you can download .deb pacakge(s) from http://packages.linuxmint.com/... and dpkg -i to install Cinnamon. If any dependencies are needed, you could download these (.deb packages) from the same repository. Or, you could add linux mint repos to /etc/apt/sources list and update, and install cinnamon. Later of course, put a # in front of the linux mint repo, so it won't get updated together with Mint for safety.Cinnamon depends on cinnamon-common, cinnamon-translations, cjs, libcjs0c, cinnamon-desktop-data, libcinnamon-desktop0, libcinnamon-menu-3-0, cinnamon-control-center, cinnamon-settings-daemon, and all these .deb packages are in that http://packages.linuxmint.com/...Actually, I don't see the need to have Cinnamon on Ubuntu with the new polished Unity, though.
