Tava com o XP instalado no meu micro dai fui e instalei o Ubuntu mais agora meu XP não inicia mais no grub até aparece ele lá mais da erro na hora q eu escolho para entrar...

Olhando por alto não vi nada de errado, e nem mesmo nada de diferente do meu arquivo /boot/grub/menu.lst, a não ser a última linha, onde o seu esta assim:

chainloader   1

e o meu :

chainloader   +1

Caso queira testar, para editar o arquivo tendo direitos de alterá-lo faça assim:

E para tirar uma dúvida final poderia deixar aqui o resultado do comando:

  fui lá no menu.list e coloquei um + na frente 1 da linha chainloader...

Que bom que resolveu prthiago. Edite a primeira mensagem deste tópico e adicione a palavra RESOLVIDO ao título, para que as pessoas entendam que já conseguiu resolver.

De qualquer forma vai uma dica: Acho que sempre que atualizar seu kernel existe a possibilidade de ter que acertar isto novamente, já que nas atualizações de kernel o arquivo /boot/grub/menu.lst é refeito.

Falo isto porque tenho problema semelhante toda vez que instalo o Ubuntu, ou atualizo o kernel, e não tenho certeza se também terá problemas porque enquanto tenho problemas na chamada do Ubuntu você tem na chamada do windows.
