Instalando Gnome Mplayer

Amigos, boa noite !

Estou tentando instalar o Gnome Mplayer mas ao final do ./ tem o seguinte:
O que fazer agora mediante analise ?

Eu não tenho experiência em instalar programas assim, mas parece que o problema ocorreu apenas pela falta do pkg-config, teoricamente para resolver é só instalar o pkg-config baixando do link exibido no fim da mensagem, esse: http://pkg-config.freedesktop.org

Para facilitar, existe um .deb no excelente pkgs.org, também teoricamente, é só baixar e instalar:

32 bits: http://pkgs.org/ubuntu-14.04/ubuntu-universe-i386/gnome-mplayer_1.0.8-2_i386.deb.html
64 bits: http://pkgs.org/ubuntu-14.04/ubuntu-universe-amd64/gnome-mplayer_1.0.8-2_amd64.deb.html
