Apt-get update não funciona

Pessoal,

Andei desinstalando e instalando o Mplayer para tentar assistir arquivos .VOB

Não consegui arrumar esse problema e ganhei outros:

- o Totem não toca mais MP3 e nem oferece mais a possibilidade de instalar o gstreamer
-  o adicionar/remover programas; o gerenciador de pacotes synaptic; e nem o "canais de software" estão funcionando.
tentando abrir o synaptic, recebo este erro:

E: Tipo 'S' não é conhecido na linha 32 na lista de fontes /etc/apt/sources.list
E: A lista de fontes não pôde ser lida.
Configure as opções de repositórios para corrigir o problema.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Fui ao repositório, verificar se universe, multiverse etc estavam ok... aí, recebi o seguinte comunicado

Não foi possível fazer o download de todos os índices de repositórios

O repositório pode não estar mais disponível ou pode não ter sido possível entrar em contato com o mesmo devido a problemas de rede. Caso esteja disponível, uma versão mais antiga do índice que falhou será usado. Em último caso, o repositório será ignorado. Cheque sua conexão de rede e certifique-se de que o endereço do repositório esteja correto nas preferências.

após clicar em fechar, havia esta janela:

E: Tipo 'S' não é conhecido na linha 42 na lista de fontes /etc/apt/sources.list
E: Não foi possível trancar o diretório de listas

e, por úlitmo:

aí, fui tentar resolver meu problema pelo terminal... . quando dei o comando o <apt-get update>, retorna esse erro:

root@MEUCOMPUTADOR:/home/<usuário># apt-get update
E: Tipo 'S' não é conhecido na linha 32 na lista de fontes /etc/apt/sources.list

Alguém aí tem idéia de como posso proceder para reativar minha source.list?

Todas as mensagens apontam para um erro no arquivo /etc/apt/sources.list.

Caso tenha editado ele procure voltar a versão anterior, e caso não saiba coloque o conteúdo dele aqui.

Bom vo colocar aqui o meu sources.list, se voce quiser copiar e ver se funciona, qualquer coisa voce edita depois. se nao quiser copiar tambem tudo bem ahiuahuiahi, mas mesmo assim se der pra colar o seu sources.list aqui pra gente ver.

Eu usei um tutorial que modificava algumas coisas... um tal de dapper ou coisa parecida. Ele pediu para eu alterar a source.list e eu fiz. não postei porque agora percebi que era para o 6.04!!! Podem rir, eu deixo.... é lógico que não adiantou nada.... srsrsrs

De qquer maneira, vale dizer q essa lista q eu publiquei é o backup da source.list vigente de quando descobri o problema, ou seja, era ela que valia  quando notei o problema com o <# apt-get update>
Acabei de voltar a usá-la e recebo o seguinte erro do terminal:

E: Tipo 'root' não é conhecido na linha 47 na lista de fontes /etc/apt/sources.list

as vezes também aparece: < a lista de fontes não pode ser lida >

mais uma vez, obrigado...

O sources.list é do hardy.

Não se pode colocar o do gutsy no lugar dele.

Hehehe, verdade, esqueci de perguntar qual versão ele tava usando, de qualquer maneira, na seção dicas e truques sempre tem as listas originais de repositórios de todas as versões.

RESOLVIDO....

fui lá no Dicas e Truques, resolvi logo dois problemas: o da source.list e o "w32codecs"

valeu a ajuda.... realmente é isso que nos faz usar o linux: problema aparece, problema vai embora, e a gente aprende mais e mais a lidar com a tecnologia...
