Olá

Erro 404 é o mais famoso do mundo digital.

Uma pequena pesquisa na rede daria a você a resposta:  conteúdo inexistente.

Se olhar aqui (parte válida dos links)http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/

Verá que não existe nos repositórios os links para o Ubuntu utopic 14.10

Como a versão perdeu suporte,  os repositórios foram migrados para http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/utopic/

Edite seu arquivo sources.list e troque os índices antigos pelos novos.

Complementando o que Tota informormou, realize o seguinte procedimento:

No terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) digite (ou cole) o seguinte comando:

Código: [Selecionar]

sudo sed -i -e 's/archive.ubuntu.com\|security.ubuntu.com/old-releases.ubuntu.com/g' /etc/apt/sources.list

Dê <Enter>, digite sua senha, e depois:

Código: [Selecionar]

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Novamente <Enter>.

O mais recomendável é instalar uma versão LTS, como a 14.04.
