Powernowd não funciona notebook Asus w7j

o powernowd não está funcionando no feisty 64 bits no notebook asus w7j...tentei reinstalar o powernowd e nada, alguém tem alguma idéia?

niguém? já testei com o debian 4.0, com o feisty 32 e 64 bits e dá o mesmo erro, notei que o speedstep-centrino é o único que não aparece e quando tento reinstalar o powernowd ele dá o erro abaixo:

cannot create /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0//cpufreq/scaling_governor: Directory nonexistent

entre outros....o que pode ser?

não vejo solução em lugar nenhum, abaixo segue o erro completo ao dar o comando powernowd:

PowerNowd encountered and error and could not start.
Please make sure that:
 - You are running a v2.6.7 kernel or later
 - That you have sysfs mounted /sys
 - That you have the core cpufreq and cpufreq-userspace
   modules loaded into your kernel
 - That you have the cpufreq driver for your cpu loaded,
   (for example: powernow-k7), and that it works. Check
   'dmesg' for errors.
If all of the above are true, and you still have problems,
