Mudar o Grub para iniciar o Windows XP

Ola pessoal, estou com um certo problema. Instalei o Kubunt 6.10 e estou querendo mudar o sistema operacional que vai inicar (padrao). Ja entrei na pagina com dicas sobre isto. Fiz o login como su, e fiz os comandos, mas esta dando um erro:

root@home:/home/carlos# sudo cp /boot/grub/menu.lst /boot/grub/menu.lst_backup
root@home:/home/carlos# sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst
sudo: gedit: command not found    - aqui esta o erro que estou falando, o que estou fazendo de errado?

Acho que vc ja esta logado como root naum tem a necessidade de utilizar sudo experimenta colocar apenas gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst é isso aii t++

gedit é o programa de edição de arquivos de texto do GNOME. Como você usa o Kubuntu, vc deve usar o programa para o KDE que é o kedit. Substitua gedit por kedit que vai funcionar.

(lembre-se que as linhas começadas com # são apenas comentários, não são configuração em si)

perceba que a primeira entrada é "Ubuntu 6.10", a segunda é "Ubuntu 6.10 Ubuntu 6.10 (Modo de Recuperação)" e assim por diante.
Para configurar qual entrada será selecionada automaticamente edita-se uma linha lá no início do arquivo onde está escrito "default 0". Do jeito que ela está, a entrada padrão a ser carregada é a "Ubuntu 6.10". Se eu colocasse "default 1" ele carregaria por padrão a segunda entrada descrita, no caso, carregaria "Ubuntu 6.10 Ubuntu 6.10 (Modo de Recuperação)". Para "default 2" ele carregaria o "Kurumin 7" por padrão e assim por diante.
O que você tem que fazer é ajustar essa linha "default x" para tornar padrão o carregamento do seu windows (de acordo com a ordem que está descrito no teu arquivo).

é pq vc tá no Kubuntu, ele vem com KDE e o gedit é editor de texto do GNOME.. Vc pode usar kedit como disse o amigo aí de cima! ':]
