tenho uma placa mãe asus m2n-e sli que vem com o som onbord cm6501 usb
essa placa vem com o driver de som e rede NFORCE-Linux-x86-1[1].0-0311-pkg1,portanto quando tento instar ele da o seguinte erro:ERROR: The NVIDIA kernel module was not created.

Já procurei em vários sites uma solução mas não encontrei minha ultima esperança é aqui, se alguem poder me ajudar fico muito agradecido
antes que eu me esqueça to usando o kubuntu 7.10 kernel 2.6.22-14-generic

Tenho a mesma placa, lhe dou uma dica: ignore os drivers pra linux que vem no CD.



O reconhecimento de hardware do Ubuntu instala tudo nessa placa a partir da versão 8.10, na 8.04 (ou 7.10 não me lembro) era necessário alterar algumas coisas para fazer o som funcionar, mas isso é passado.



Edit: Cara, outra dica que lhe passo é: use a busca do fórum.

Seria muito mais interessante atualizar para a última versão estável, mas caso queira continuar nessa da uma olha nesse tópico.
