Problema ao Instalar o Leitor Biométrico

Olá pessoal.
    Estou enfrentando problemas para instalar o leitor biométrico que vem no notebook da HP Compaq 6710b, já busquei em diversos fóruns e eles falam para instalar o software Fingerprint. Ao iniciar o programa ele avisa que eu não encontrou o dispositivo como segue no print.



Segue o comando que pediram para rodar e verificar se o dispositivo é compatível:

Pelas informações este dispositivo não é suportado pelo Fingerprint, infelizmente. Mesmo usuarios Win$
tem problemas com versão 64 bits, como este note é de 2008 +-  há falta de drivers para essa arquitetura, mas o linux é surpreendente, quem sabe. Fica aí o que eu encontrei, se  puder ajudar mais alguém.

To find out your reader's ID, run the lsusb command and look into the sixth column of the output.

1. Add this PPA to your sources:
      sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fingerprint/fprint
      sudo apt-get update
      sudo apt-get upgrade
2. Install the software:
     sudo apt-get install libfprint0 fprint-demo libpam-fprintd
