Modem intel não funciona [Notebook pc-chips G220]

Pessoal, possuo um notebook marca pc-chips modelo G220 que não estou conseguindo utilizar seu modem.
Já acessei o site da intel porém eles não possuem nenhum driver para ubuntu/debian.

Peguei o source e tentei compilar porém não obtive sucesso.

Alguém tem como me dar uma mão?

A versão do Ubuntu é a 6.06 LTS.
