Bom dia a todos, instalei os drivers da Nvidia aqui, o beryl e tudo mais, quando habilito o beryl as funções dele não funcionam, e as janelas de aplicativos ficam "travados" na tela, sem opção de minimizar, maximizar, expandir ou seja o que for. Ai tenho que voltar para o Metacity. Alguem sabe o que pode ser?

Eu acredito que sejam necessárias algumas alterações no teu xorg, não posso te dar nenhuma informação a respeito ainda, você precisa informar qual a versão do SO que esta usando e também sobre seu hardware.
Tem placa de vídeo?
Qual?
Com estas informações você poderá receber ajuda do pessoal aqui.

Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy, uma placa de video Gforce 2 - 64MB.

Se quiser posso colocar o xorg,conf também.

resolveu nao oh cara,tipo,ele voltou ao normal as janelas,sendo q eh como se o beryl nao tivesse funcionando,continua como tava antes,tow lendo esse topico q tu recomendou

Experimenta primeiro
sudo ls
se pedir a senha e correr normal de os outros comandos.

Edite o sources.list direto e inclua o repositório
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
adicione
deb http://nvidia.limitless.lupine.me.uk/ubuntu edgy stable
salve e feche.
Siga a partir dai.
Se o comando que inicia por wget..... que é para pegar a chave não retornar OK , tenta de novo.

q pacotes eu preciso selecionar no synaptic??
pq qndo eu instalei o beryl e dei o boot,ele reiniciou e deu o update das parada do beryl,sao essas mesmas ou outras????

Não sei qual seus repositórios porém os pacotes que eu tinha instalado eram:
beryl
beryl-core
beryl-manager
beryl-plugins
beryl-plugins-data
beryl-settings
beryl-settings-bindings
emerald

libemeraldlengine0

marque pelo synaptic, que as dependências ele resolve.
