Placa ATI Radeon X Desktop em Cubo

Pessoal, estou com problemas pra habilitar o Desktop em cubo do Ubuntu (7.04). Já tentei o driver ATI  e já tentei também o radeon, como podem ver abaixo no meu xorg.conf... o modelo do notebook é um DELL latitude 131L...

Já fiz o passo a passo do forum no link http://wiki.ubuntu-br.org/VideoATI e simplesmente diz que tal efeito (Desktop em cubo) não pôde ser habilitado.

Pessoal, certa/ ñ sou o melhor p/ explicar tecnica/ o caso p/ vcs.

também tenho uma ATI Radeon x300se e c/ os drives proprietário fica também desabilitado aqui, então deixo tudo conforme veio no CD do Ubuntu 7.04 e rodo normal/ o compiz e o beryl, e claro que na partida do micro a tela apresenta, digamos, umas piscadas. Mas o desempenho inclusive nas renderizações do Gimp é normal.

Recentemente, a ATI liberou uns novos drives, mas ñ poso dizer nada, também tem leituras como: http://nq6.blogspot.com/2007/06/configurando-o-video-no-ubuntu.html

E também o programa Envy, que instalam os últimos drives de vídeos proprietários, leiam c/ atenção: http://ubuntuforum-br.org/index.php/topic,15359.0.html
