Tenho uma ATI Radeon x300, que consegui instalar pelo seguinte tuto -

O fato é que em ambos a minha tela de login está vindo em 1920x1080, e eu uso 1280x1024 a 60Hz como meu padrão. Já no Gutsy tá tudo normal, até estou tendo final/ o Compiz Fusion funcionando c/ drive proprietário. Mas isso está me incomodando, pois na tela de login fico s/ ter a visualização do menu, onde fica a sessão p/ inicializar etc.

O meu monitor é um LG Flatron L1750S LCD 17'', considerado na listagem como genérico, na 2ª tela ele está c/ a resolução de 1024x768.
tô achando estranho mexer nisso, pois a tela de login está c/ tamanho maior. Ando procurando muitas respostas no fórum internacional, mas só algo como um aticonf, me pareceu o caminho, porem como já tive inúmeras dores de cabeça c/ essa placa no Ubuntu, gostaria de um conselho.

Minha resolução de tela e também a Screen and Graphics, estão setadas p/ 1280x1024 e c/ 60Hz e funcionando perfeita/.
