Instalar Nvidia Fx5200

boas,

o problema ja e antigo, eu entro no gestor de drivers restrictos instalo td direitinho(ate ja usei o envy uma vez) e o driver fica instalado, o problema e q ao correr uma aplicaçao 3d, exemplo de um jogo leve como o tuxkart o jogo vai abaixo logo, e ate o compiz bloqueia...nao pode ser da grafica porque ela no windows corre td bem..:S

sou um grande admirador do ubuntu e tento usa lo ao maximo mas estes contratempos sao mesmo aborrecidos.. agradeço qualquer sugestao

O autor deste tutorial usou na Nvidia 8500 GT e também em uma Nvidia 8600 GTS

Eu segui o passo a passo na minha FX 5600 e ubuntu 7.10 e deu tudo certo (antes eu nao conseguia 1024x768 pois meu monitor aceita o máximo de 60Hz) e depois da dica do link tudo foi resolvido. Vamos ver agora quando meu monitor Samsung 19" Wide modelo 931bw chegar aki em casa.

Eu tbm tenho uma Nvidia, uma GForce4 e para instalar foi tao simples, talvez de para fazer o mesmo com essa. No fundo, nao é instalar nada, muitas das Placas da Nvidia só precisam  de activar o controlador. Vai a Sistema > Preferencias > Efeitos do Ambiente de Trabalho. Aparece uma janela que diz que é necessário activar o controlador. Metes para activar, reinicias e pronto. Com esta resultou, nao custa nada tentares o mesmo .

provavelmente a aceleração 3D não está instalada. No terminal, digite:
