Como verificar se meu modem esta funcionando ??

E agora como faço para verificar se ele esta funcionando ??

Como sua conexão é através de softmodem (ou winmodem), ou seja, conexão discada, ainda é necessário instalar um driver para o modem, pois sozinho ele não funciona no linux.

Para completar a informação do modem, no terminal do Ubuntu (menu Aplicações > Acessórios > Consola ou Terminal) digite:

lspci -n


cole aqui o resultado.

Alternativamente, você pode digitar no terminal isso:

lspci -d 1057:3052
 
se retornar como resposta isso:

é por que seu motorola sm56 é suportado pelo linux (existem tipos de motorola que não são suportados) e para ativar seu modem, se usar o Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron 32bits, siga este link:

que é basicamente baixar o pacote modem-arquivos-v25.tar.gz por um outro sistema operacional que acesse a internet, colocar na sua pasta de usuário no Ubuntu, clicar com o botão direito do mouse sobre ele e escolher a opção extrair aqui. Será criada uma pasta chamada de modem-arquivos-v25, entre nela e leia os arquivos Leia-me.txt (resumido) e guia_instalação.pdf (completo com ilustrações) que explica como usar este pacote para ativar seu modem, no caso dele ser suportado ok.

Segui o tutorial e instalei o pacote, fez todos os passos sem apresentar erro, mas na hora de conectar com pppoe, não abriu o modem, fui em configurações, e tanto na /dev/modem  como /dev/tt... em nenhuma das opções encontrou modem instalado.

Não entendi o: "...mas na hora de conectar com pppoe, não abriu o modem...", sua conexão não é discada por softmodem, precisamente o motorola sm56?

Veja o guia_istalação.pdf que mostra todo o procedimento de instalação do pacote e ainda mostra os erros mais comuns encontrados no processo de instalação do mesmo.

Pelo terminal do Ubuntu digita estes comandos e cola aqui o resultado:

dmesg | grep slamr

ps -aux | grep slmodemd

lsmod

ainda no terminal digita:

sudo /etc/init.d/sl-modem-daemon restart

depois vá no menu Aplicações > Internet > GNOME PPP e veja se consegue se conectar.

Insisto veja no guia_instalação.pdf a parte final dele que fala em solucionando problemas.

pelos comandos que falei para você colar aqui, percebo que você não instalou o meu pacote e por seqüencia o driver smartlink corretamente, por isso a insistência em ler com atenção o guia_instalação.pdf que fiz e o Leia-me.txt


Se seu mode tem realmente esta ID 1057:3052 e se o nome apresentado é esse Modem: Motorola SM56 Data Fax Modem (rev 04), este meu pacote deveria funcionar. Isso se usar o Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron 32bits


no terminal do Ubuntu qual é o resultado do comando:

lspci -d 1057:3052

está me parecendo que são máquinas diferentes (destacados em vermelho), então você tem o modem motorola sm56 numa máquina e esta tentando instalar o meu pacote com o driver smartlink numa outra máquina que não tem o modem motorola sm56

Desde que abri este tópico, troquei de sistema, e de maquina, mas estou postando aqui os resultados do sistema ubuntu e somente de uma maquina, hoje eu não tenho acesso a maquina, na segunda feira redefino.
