Resolução de vídeo no Ubuntu 8.10 [Resolvido!!!]

Olá galera,


    Também perdi a paciencia, comprei um notebook CCE WM93C core 2 duo, 2 Gb RAM e 120 HD e veio com a bosque do satux, a resolução máxima que o ubuntu 8.10 pega é 800 x 600 sendo que a resolução da minha placa SIS é 1280 x 800, preciso de ajuda, pois já instalei diversos drivers de video e nenhum funcionou!  Isso tudo sem contar com o problema do C3 function que estou tentando resolver...

para aqueles que tem um notebook CCE com placa de vídeo SIS, usem a seguinte configuração (genérica) no xorg.conf.

Esta configuração resolverá o problema de resolução do vídeo. Entretanto, não será possível ter aceleração 3D, visto que a SIS não disponibiliza os drivers. Segundo o que eu sei, somente as distribuições Red Hat, Mandriva e Satux tem esse driver proprietário compilado como módulo no seu kernel.

Infelizmente a SIS é uma das poucas empresas que não liberam o código, nem sob licença proprietária para os usuários.

meu n73 em modo PCSuite só reconhece como modem, mas em trasnferencia de dados reconhece os aquivos

Aqui no meu notebok CCE com placa de vídeo Sis só haviam resoluções de 800x600 e 640x480.   Fiz as alterações abaixo e funcionou, surgiram resoluções de 1280x768 e 1024x768.


Configuração do xorg.conf, com as alterações em vermelho:

E a saga continua...hehe.

A última configuração do xorg.conf não ficou boa para ver filmes no Totem. Então, toca a procurar a solução de novo.

Acho que achei, porque o Totem funcionou normal.

Meu amigo Flatac tem como dar uma luz. Tenho um pc CCE com a placa 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 771/671 PCIE VGA Display Adapter (rev 10). Estou seguindo suas dicas mas quando dou o comando xorg olha o q aparece:

root@rafael-laptop:/home/rafael# xorg.conf
xorg.conf: command not found
root@rafael-laptop:/home/rafael#

Meu uname -a :
root@rafael-laptop:/home/rafael# uname -a

Você tem de dar o seguinte comando:

     sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Aí vai abrir o arquivo xorg.conf para edição.

O meu arquivo, hoje, está assim:

     sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Aí vai abrir o arquivo xorg.conf para edição.

Meu amigo dei o comando que disse que a tela xorg q se abre está em branco então copiei e colei o texto da tela anterior com as mudanças quando mando salvar apaece a msg :

Não foi possível localizar o arquivo /etc/x11/xorg.conf

O que fazer ?
