A resolução notebook não muda, so tem 800 x 600

alguem pode me ajudar a arrumar a minha resolução do meu notebook, nao consigo trocar, so tem a opção 800 x 600, precisaria colocar em 1200... as telas do ubuntu ficao muito grande, é dificil usar assim, alguem pode me ajudar, não entendo muito. agradeço...

Salve e reinicie o notebook.

Jhon nesse tutorial ensina a instalar o ubuntu se ja o instalou ai ensina a colocar o driver na versao 8.04 na versao 8.10 e so voce baixar o driver que e .deb simples a instalaçao.

Instalei o Ubuntu 9.04 e tive problemas com a resolução da tela do meu notebook Acteon ACT-30 Só apresentava resolução de 800X600. Eu consegui resolver da seguinte maneira:

No terminal digite:

sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf


em seguida aparece o xorg.conf

Em Section "Monitor" eu acrescentei essas linhas conforme abaixo.

Section "Monitor"

   Identifier   "Configured Monitor"

   Option "DPMS"

   HorizSync 28-72

   VertRefresh 43-60

EndSection

Depois dessa modificação, vá em Sistema, Preferências, Video e mude a resolução para 1024X768.
 
Vejam aqui como ficou o xorg.

Caro amigo esta placa de video é a mesma usada em notebooks da amazon pc, entretanto ela não tem suporte a 3d e esta possivelmente com o driver mal instalado. o modelo da placa de video é sis 765/762.
Confirme pra mim o modelo da sua placa de video e  procurarei uma solução pra esta resolução, muito estranho estar so em 800x600.

Aqui no fórum mesmo há bastante informação sobre isto.
Você deve pegar o driver cujo o link vc encontra aqui no forum;
Descompactar;
Seguir as instruções.
Eu uso a versão de 64 bits, pra mim foi um pouco mais complicado. Tive que encontrar a pasta onde estava o driver Vesa e colocar os arquivos(download) lá.
Lembre-se de editar o xorg.conf.
Funcionou bem.
