Sem ícone e não detecta rede [Resolvido]

Criei um novo tópico pois se trata de outro tipo de problema.

Aquele ícone de rede que fica próximo ao relógio sumiu a um bom tempo, mas como eu estava conseguindo conectar automaticamente ao iniciar o pc aquilo não me incomodava e fui levando. Há uns 3 dias minha conexao não funciona mais, já tentei solucionar o problema mas preciso me conectar em uma rede que não é na minha casa para saber se o problema persiste. Uso note Semp toshiba IS-1462 com Ubuntu 10.04.

Dei uma pesquisada, tentei em Sistema->Preferencias-> Aplicativos de Sessão, mas a opçao Gerenciador de Redes já está habilitada... Em Sistemas->Preferencias->Conexões de Rede-> Sem fio não detecta a rede que eu quero acessar...

Alguem poderia me ajudar?

Teve um tópico que a solução era ativar na sessão o gerenciador de redes, no meu caso já está ativo e mesmo assim não aparece
Outra solução encontrada seria mudar o arquivo nm-system-settings.conf em /etc/NetworkManager
Nenhuma das duas deu certo comigo...

A saida desses comandos acima deu alguma pista?

Quanto a detecção de outras redes oq eu poderia fazer?

Achei a solução:

talvez a solução desse tópico tenha sido parcial, pois inicialmente dentro do arquivo nm-system-settings.conf que estah em /etc/NetworkManager
indicava "managed=false", e em algum lugar do google pedia que fosse trocado para "true". Não sei se isso ajudou em algo...

A solução também fez aparecer o indicador de uso da bateria que tava me fazendo falta...

É normal não aparecer as conexoes do menu Sistemas-> preferencia>conexao de rede->sem fio diferente das que aparecem nesse icone?
