Problemas com Compiz-Fusion

Galera,
estou brigando a vários dias para conseguir instalar o Compiz-Fusion. Hoje finalmente (depois de ter de reinstalar o Ubuntu 7.04 umas 3 ou 4 vezes hehe) consegui chegar o mais longe! XGL funcionando e Compiz quase iniciando.
Porém estou com alguns problemas realmente desagradaveis quando uso o comando "compiz --replace".

Aviso do gerenciador de janelas: "" localizado no banco de dados de configurações não é um valor válido para a tecla de atalho "toggle_shaded"

Com isso eu fico sem bordas nas janelas e os efeitos não funcionam.
Peço que por favor me ajudem :-/
Já estou me estressando com esse negocio.

EDIT:
reiniciei o servidor X e tentei de novo iniciar o compiz. Obtive o mesmo erro mas depois de alguns segundos as bordas das janelas voltam e eu noto que alguns efeitos foram iniciados. Que eu testei até agora:
- Ctrl + Alt + Esquerdo do Mouse ( Abre um "pseudo cubo". É uma face 2d com uma área de trabalho de cada lado, sendo que tenho 4 áreas habilitadas)
- Movimento e transparencia das janelas funcionando
- Shift + 10 funcionando

Os efeitos de água não funcionam. Os outros eu não sei os atalhos /o\

Remova o pacote compiz-extra e instala os pacotes libdecoration0 e compiz-fusion-plugins-extra.

Tenta ver o que dá agora.

eh bem provavel que seja teu xorg, mesmo alguma incompatibilidade de pacotes....

dah uma olhada aqui (http://dizzyreed.blogspot.com/2007/07/compiz-fusion-com-geforce-6150-e-ubuntu.html), e adapta p/ tua placa de video
