Kingston 1gb não monta !! [RESOLVIDO]

Amigos, eu coloco o meu USB que comprei Kingston e não acontece nada. Na pasta "/media" nao tem lah o SDA nem USB nadaa.. =/ alguma ideia ??

Consegui um grande avanço : )

Testei o Kingston no Kurumin e no Windows (calma...eu não tenho windows testei no pc da minha mãe) E no kurumin funciono...só plugar e monta sozinho...windows mesma coisa....

Ai voltei pro ubuntu e fiz monte de coisa...ai me surgiu a idéia de plugar atrás !!! Ai funciono...blz ! Ou seja, o problema eh no ubuntu, não está enxergando os USBs da frente (tem 2)...alguma ideia ?

Aqui, desculpa a pergunta idiota, mas o Kurumin você rodou no seu PC ou no PC da sua mãe? Por que se foi do da sua mãe, pode ser a USB frontal que deve estar desconectada da sua placa mãe.
Agora se o Kurumin estava no seu PC e funciona direito, aí ferrou! Tá com qual Ubuntu?
Confere se está conectado tudo direito na sua placa mãe para a USB frontal. Mesmo funcionando, é bom conferir se for o caso...

Coloca ai qual a versão do ubuntu, uma idéia que posso te dar é copiar o script "detectar pen drive" que tem no linux ou ainda dar uma checada em outras portas para ver se outras conectam ai depois voce posta o resultado e veremos o que podemos fazer!

Ou ainda procurar aqueles drivers raríssimos para seu pendrive kingstom e ainda por cima linux...

Fiz o seguinte...

Cheguei em casa com o kingston e puis no ubuntu...e NADA....ai eu pluguei no PC da minha mãe e funcionou....ai coloquei no Kurumin e funcionou (kurumin nesse computador)....Só que ele RECONHECE mas ele fica BUGADO...só funciona na parte de trás !!! O USB da frente fica bugado na hora de copiar e talz...no kurumin pelo menos ele reconhece. Todos esses problemas fizeram-me reinstalar o windows (rapidinho). Funcionou TUDO certo.

Conclusões:
1) Não é o meu pen drive.
2) Não é o USB frontal.

Eu estava também conversando com um amigo e ele me disse que só o kernel 2.6.20 (último kernel) tem suporte para esse USB frontal !!

Digitando "uname -r" no console, vejo o meu kernel.

No Kurumin - 2.6.18.1
No Ubuntu - 2.6.17-xxxx (não lembro o resto)

Ou seja...eu terei que compilar um kernel 2.6.20.....MAS como eu não sei fazer isso eu vou esperar lançar uma distro (ou ubuntu ou kurumin) com o kernel a cima, enquanto isso vou colocando "atrás" ahahah xD no bom sentido.

Bizarro... Eu aqui uso USB frontal no Ubuntu 6.10 e funciona numa boa. Plugo o Ipod, câmera digital, impressora e funciona. Aqui é uma P5VD2-X com chipset VIA.
Já fez o teste rodando o Ubuntu a partir do CD e plugar o Kingston?

"espeta" ae na tua USB teu pendrive e executa no terminal o comando "lsusb" que ira mostrar todas suas portas USB suportadas pela sua MoBo e em uma delas terá que aparecer algo em relação ao teu pendrive.
Tenho um pendrive Kingston DataTraveler de 1 GB também e aqui ele aparece como Toshiba Corp. conforme pode ver abaixo.

Uso o USB frontal no Dapper com kernel 2.6.15-28-386. Reconhece meu pendrive sem problemas.

Mas o que você pluga nele ?? Será que é problema de "marca" ? o!
No folheto vem escrito que suporta Mac, Windows e Linux. Ai para o linux o folheto fala que só Kernel 2.4 pra cima...ou seja... o 2.6 era pra funfar !! Não deve ser problema nisso !!

como vc pode ver teu pendrive não esta sendo reconhecido pelo sistema, só aparece como conectado a uma porta USB da tua maquina uma referência Microsoft Corp. (BUS 001) que imagino ser teu mouse. Cara, não sei o que pode ser, mais faz o seguinte teste para ver se não é problema nas suas outras portas (dúvido que seje, mais não custa verificar).
Pluga teu mouse (como disse, se é que é teu mouse) em outra porta e teu pendrive onde agora esta este dispositivo e roda denovo o comando para ver.

Fiz teste com o mouse e funcionou. Fiz teste com um pen drive de um amigo e não funcionou e com o mp3 de um amigo e também não funcionou.
